EVNHCMC automates smart power grids

This is one of the impressive results from the Conference reviewing the implementation of the 2024 plan, deploying goals and tasks for 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC), on the morning of January 15. Trying for breakthrough

In 2024, EVNHCMC's power sales reached 30.08 billion kWh, an increase of 7.59% compared to 2023, and reached 105.16% of the plan assigned by EVN; the saving output achieved 779 million kWh, equivalent to 2.59% of the power sales and an increase of 22.85% compared to 2023. The economic and technical indicators of the power grid were further improved and reached the targets ahead of schedule as stated in the 2020-2025 plan. The system average interruption duration per customer per year (SAIDI) was 25.5 minutes, the system average interruption frequency per customer per year (SAIFI) was 0.28 times, power loss rate was 2.98 %, better than the plan assigned by EVN.

In business and customer service activities, the Corporation kept achieving and exceeding all assigned targets. EVNHCMC upgraded the EVNHCMC application (App) so that customers had the best service experience; supplementing the customer information security mechanism according to Decree 13 of the Government; reviewing and connecting to the national population database for all customers.

In 2024, EVNHCM also achieved impressive results in smart grid development, typically with the "Smart Grid Project of the Year" award with the project "Power outage management map" at the ENLIT ASIA 2024 international conference (taking place in Malaysia); award in the category "Automation in smart grid" voted by Power Magazine (USA).

Last year, the Corporation won the Green Business Award for the second time by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Second Prize - the 30th VIFOTEC Award cohosted by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Organizational Technology.

According to the General Director of EVNHCMC, in 2024 the Corporation continued to maintain and improve the efficiency of digital business management at an advanced level of digital transformation, implementing the transition to a digital environment in all areas of production activities including power grid operation management, business and customer service, construction investment, internal governance, information technology telecommunications infrastructure. In early 2024, the Corporation received a digital transformation certificate reaching level 4/5 (advanced level) assessed by independent consultant iDAS.

Regarding the results of investment in power grid construction, EVNHCMC energized and put into operation many key projects such as Cat Lai - Tan Cang 220kV line; Tan Cang 220kV substation; Thu Thiem 110kV substation branch; renovating Cho Lon 110kV substation, etc. thereby contributing to improving power supply reliability, grid contingency for the central area of ​​the City and backup to meet the demand for load growth in the dry season in 2025.

In 2025, the Corporation is determined to strive for sustainable development, have a strong digital corporate culture foundation, have leading smart grid quality and supply services in the country, and gradually approach advanced electricity companies in the world.

The Corporation strives to constantly ensure safe, stable, and uninterrupted operation of the power system in the management area with increasingly high quality and reliability of power supply, strictly controlling and ensuring adequate power supply for the needs of socio-economic development, security - defense,e and serving the City's people.

Some main planned targets of EVNHCMC in 2025

• Power sales: 32,150 million kWh, an increase of 6.89% compared to 2024

• Electricity saving: striving to achieve ≥ 2% of power sales

• Power loss rate: striving to reduce to 2.95%

• Power supply reliability: SAIFI < 0.45 times, SAIDI < 30 minutes

• Construction investment: Starting construction 14 projects, including 3 220kV projects and 11 110kV projects; energizing 10 projects, including 4 220kV projects and 6 110kV projects.
