EVNNPT implements construction of Than Uyen - Lao Cai 220kV transmission line project

The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB), and related units have just organized the implementation of the construction of the  Than Uyen - Lao Cai 220kV transmission line project, celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.

The ceremony was organized on August 21 in Lao Cai province and attended by Ms. Thao Thi My - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Quang commune, Mr. Pham Quoc Vuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Quang commune, representatives of functional departments, Xuan Quang commune police (Lao Cai province). On the side of EVNNPT, the attendants were Mr. Pham Le Phu - General Director, Deputy General Directors Luu Viet Tien, Hoang Van Tuyen; along with leaders of specialized departments of EVNNPT and the Northern Power Project Management Board, and contractors participating in the project.

The  Than Uyen - Lao Cai 220kV transmission line project is invested by EVNNPT, managed and operated by NPMB, and will be taken over by Power Transmission Company No. 1 after completion.

The project is scaled with the construction of a new 220kV double-circuit transmission line from the Than Uyen 220kV substation (Lai Chau province) to the  Lao Cai 500kV substation, with a total length of 73.5km. Of which, the section passing through Lai Chau province is 5.8km long (12 pole locations) located in Muong Than commune; the section passing through Lao Cai province is 67.7km long (including 144 pole locations) passing through 9 communes including: Nam Xe, Minh Luong, Duong Quy, Van Ban, Nam Chay, Vo Lao, Tang Loong, Bao Thang and Xuan Quang.

Speaking at the ceremony, EVNNPT’s General Director Pham Le Phu emphasized: “This is a key project, not only contributing to ensuring regional energy security but also promoting local economic development through the release of hydropower capacity. This will significantly supplement the capacity of the national power system and increase budget revenue for localities.”

As the investor, EVNNPT is committed to implementing the project on schedule, with high quality and absolute safety, closely coordinating with localities in compensation and site clearance, ensuring legitimate rights for the people. EVNNPT will also mobilize all resources, human resources, and synchronous coordination between the Project Management Board and contractors to put the project into operation as soon as possible, as directed by the Prime Minister.
