The plenary session of the National Conference on Electricity Science and Technology took place on November 28. Attending the event on behalf of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) were Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Hoang An, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the EVN Party Committee Nguyen Huu Tuan, Members of the EVN Board of Directors, EVN Vice Presidents, and leaders of EVN’s subsidiaries and units.
Representing the Vietnam Electrical Engineering Association (VEEA) were Mr. Dang Huy Cuong – VEEA President and Member of the EVN Board of Directors, and Mr. Mai Quoc Hoi – Vice President and Secretary General of VEEA.
The conference also welcomed representatives of government agencies, experts, partners, and businesses from both domestic and international organizations.

Delegates attending 2025 National Conference on Electricity Science and Technology
With the theme “Energy transition and ensuring national energy security,” the conference focused on practical and timely issues in the energy and power sectors, especially accelerating scientific research, technological innovation, and digital transformation to promote rapid and sustainable development in energy sector; gradually mastering modern technologies, including nuclear energy technologies; and advancing toward self-reliance in manufacturing most energy-related equipment for domestic use and export, in both technology and equipment.

During the plenary session, many important presentations and speeches were delivered by delegates and experts. These included a presentation by EVN on “EVN’s Development orientation amidst the global and national energy transition,” a presentation by the Institute of Energy (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade) on “Vietnam’s national power development plan for 2021 - 2030 with a vision to 2050,” a presentation by the National Power System and Market Operation Company (NSMO) on “System dispatching and operation in the context of rising renewable energy sources,” and a presentation by the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute on “Construction and operation of nuclear power plants”, and so on. International experts and partners also contributed insights, such as Professor Tran Quoc Tuan (National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology – INSTN/Paris-Saclay University, France) on “High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems,” representatives from China Southern Power Grid Lancang-Mekong International Co., Ltd. (CSG-LMI) on “Experience in operating hybrid HVDC/HVAC grids,” the China Huadian Corporation on “Fuel conversion and reliability enhancement,” and digital transformation expert Duc Do on “Digital transformation in the power sector.”

Conference attracts strong interest from numerous organizations in Vietnam’s and international energy sector.
The National Conference on Electricity Science and Technology is a biennial event and an important scientific forum that draws the attention of organizations, businesses, and individuals in Vietnam and abroad. It provides strong momentum for scientific research, technological development, and innovation within the electricity sector.

On November 27, the conference featured five specialized sessions:
· Power generation
· Power transmission
· Power distribution & customer services
· System operation & load dispatch
· Digital transformation & AI applications
The discussions in these five sub-sessions addressed highly practical and timely issues, updating the latest technological trends such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
