Hoa Binh Expanded Hydropower Plant: Successfully installing runner of unit 2

The runner of Unit 2 of Hoa Binh Expanded Hydropower Plant (Hoa Binh Ward, Phu Tho Province) was successfully lowered into the indicated place on the morning of August 16, continuing to mark an important milestone in the equipment installation process of the key project invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The impeller weighs 110 tons and is a super-heavy equipment imported from abroad. The equipment is installed in the center of the turbine chamber, between the flow guide system and the suction pipe, directly connected to the rotating shaft to drive the generator. The installation work is undertaken by LILAMA 10, requiring absolute precision and ensuring the highest level of safety.

Unit 1 has been running at no load since the night of August 15 at 100% design capacity, 125 rpm speed as designed, completed the speed cage test, and post-speed cage inspection. On the morning of August 16, the unit was tested for high voltage stator, ready to generate power on August 19.
The Hoa Binh Expanded Hydropower Plant Project, invested by EVN, has a total capacity of 480MW with 2 units. This is also one of 250 works and projects that were simultaneously commenced and inaugurated on August 19, aiming to celebrate the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
