According to Decision No. 416/QD-UBND dated January 13, 2025, of the Long An Provincial People's Committee, the project investor is the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).

The project has a total investment of VND 1,893 billion with the scale of building a new Long An 500kV Substation with a capacity of 1800MVA; The Long An-Nha Be-My Tho 500kV transmission line with a length of about 130m; The Long An-Can Duoc-Phu My 220kV 500kV transmission line with a length of 320m.

The project is deployed in Thuan Thanh Commune, Can Giuoc District, Long An Province, and is expected to be put into operation in 2028.

The project's objective is to ensure power supply for the load and meet the socio-economic development needs of Long An Province, Ho Chi Minh City, and Tien Giang Province; reduce the load on 500/220kV transformers at My Tho, Nha Be, Phu Lam, and Phu My 500kV substations and existing 220kV lines in the area; contribute to releasing the capacity of Long An power plants, ensuring the N-1 criteria, enhancing the stability of the power system, improving the reliability and safety of power supply to the national power system.
