Power Generation Corporation 2 announces decisions on personnel work

On January 17, in Can Tho city, Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) held a ceremony to announce decisions on personnel work. Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh – a Member of the EVNGENCO2 Board of Directors (BOD), was appointed to the position of General Director of the Corporation.

Mr. Vo Hong Linh, a Member of the Vietnam Electricity (EVN) Board of Directors, and representatives of leaders and experts from the Capital Management Department, the Organization and Human Resources Department, and the EVN General Affairs Department attended the announcement ceremony.

On the side of EVNGENCO2 were Mr. Tran Phu Thai, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Tran Van Du, Deputy General Director in charge; the Party Executive Committee; members of the Board of Directors; Deputy General Directors; professional departments, etc.

Under the authorization of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ngo Minh Quan - Head of the Organization and Human Resources Department announced Decision No. 08/QD-HDQT on the termination of the duties and powers of General Director to Mr. Tran Van Du - Deputy General Director; Decision No. 09/QD-HDQT on the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh - Board Member to the position of EVNGENCO2 General Director.

On behalf of the EVNGENCO2 Party Committee and Board of Directors, Mr. Tran Phu Thai - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of EVNGENCO2 Board of Directors congratulated Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh on being trusted by the General Meeting of Shareholders and the Board of Directors to hold the position of Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Corporation.

The EVNGENCO2 Party Secretary and Chairman assessed Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh as a highly qualified officer. EVNGENCO2 Chairman assigned General Director Nguyen Huu Thinh to closely coordinate with the members of the Board of Directors as well as focus on operating all aspects of the Corporation's operations, ensuring the successful completion of the targets assigned by the General Meeting of Shareholders and EVN. In particular, he needs to promptly receive and fully grasp the work, ensuring that production and business activities meet and surpass the set plan; synchronously and effectively implement solutions to ensure power supply; strengthening the operation management and equipment maintenance; improving the operational efficiency of coal-fired thermal power plants; ensuring environmental work at coal-fired thermal power plants as well as promoting the implementation of investment projects.

With over 20 years of working in the Power sector, Master Nguyen Huu Thinh is a cadre who has grown up from the grassroots and has held many management positions and heads at Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, Hydropower Project Management Board 2, Nghi Son Thermal Power Company, Power Generation Corporation 1, etc. In any unit or position, he always upholds a sense of responsibility, promotes the exemplary and pioneering role of a leader, and excellently completes all duties and tasks.

Accepting the new assignment, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thinh expressed his deep gratitude to the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), EVNGENCO1, and EVNGENCO2 for creating conditions and supporting him in completing procedures related to organizational work. He pledged to be united, dedicated, devoted and work with the highest sense of responsibility to contribute to EVNGENCO2 as well as EVN.

Also at the ceremony, EVNGENCO2 announced decisions to appoint the Head of the EVNGENCO2 Party Organization Committee, Chief Accountant, and the positions of Deputy Head of the General Affairs, Organization and Human Resources, Construction Management, and Technical and Operational Department.
