Releasing fingerlings into Song Bung 2 and Trung Son hydropower reservoirs

Recently, Song Bung and Trung Son hydropower companies (under Power Generation Corporation 2) in coordination with local authorities released fingerlings into hydropower reservoirs to supplement aquatic resources, maintain ecosystems, and enhance sustainable livelihoods for local people.

On 20 March 2025,  in Zuoih Commune, Nam Giang District, Quang Nam Province, Song Bung Hydropower Company in coordination with Nam Giang District People's Committee organized the release of more than 30,000 fingerlings including silver carp, grass carp, and catfish into Song Bung 2 Hydropower Reservoir.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Director of Song Bung Hydropower Company emphasized: "Releasing fingerlings into the hydropower reservoir is a practical activity to raise public awareness about protecting water resources, conserving aquatic organisms, and at the same time demonstrating the Company's responsibility in sustainable development and joining hands to protect the environment".

On 13 March 2025, in Trung Son commune, Quan Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province, Trung Son Hydropower Company Limited also released 320kg of fingerlings of grass carp and silver carp to regenerate aquatic resources and protect the environment.

Mr. Ha Xuan Truong - Chief of Police of Trung Son commune, Quan Hoa district, commented: "Releasing fingerlings in the reservoir is a very meaningful activity of Trung Son Hydropower Company Limited. This activity not only brings aquatic resources to local people but also contributes to the development of both eco-tourism and environmental protection".

These activities also respond to World Water Day (22 March 2025), World Meteorological Day (23 March 2025), and Earth Hour Campaign 2025.
