Spreading spirit of 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line, determined to drive EVNNPT’s breakthrough in new era

The Conference to Review 2025 Performance and Deploy Tasks for 2026 of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) was held on the afternoon of December 30 in Hanoi. Mr. Dang Hoang An – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) acknowledged EVNNPT’s efforts in 2025 and requested that the entire transmission system spread the decisive spirit of the 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line project across all areas of operation in 2026.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Vietnam Electricity Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the State Steering Committee for Key National Energy Projects, and representatives of the Ministry of Finance. Representing the Ministry of Public Security were Major General Huynh Thoi An – Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Police Department, along with representatives from the Economic Security Department and the Police Department for Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling.

Representing Vietnam Electricity (EVN) were Mr. Dang Hoang An – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuan – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Executive Management, and representatives of EVN’s functional departments. Representing the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (VETU) was Mr. Do Duc Hung – Chairman of the Trade Union.

Representing EVNNPT were Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tung – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Truong Huu Thanh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Acting General Director; Mr. Vu Hong Nguyen – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; together with members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, the Executive Management, and leaders of the Corporation’s Trade Union.

Delivering directive remarks at the conference, Chairman of EVN Board of Directors Dang Hoang An emphasized that EVNNPT must take the lead in renewing management thinking, accelerating the application of science and technology, and promoting digital transformation to optimize production and business efficiency. He requested that units pay special attention to training and building a workforce that is not only professionally competent but also truly proficient, capable of mastering the most advanced technologies and equipment. The core objective is to prevent any subjective incidents, maintain economic and technical indicators at optimal levels, and affirm EVNNPT’s position as a leading transmission entity, meeting the requirements of power system operation in the new era.

Determination to successfully achieve targets of 2026

EVNNPT ensured transmitted electricity output of more than 256.5 billion kWh (an increase of 4% compared to 2024), maintaining safe grid operation during peak hot-season periods. Digital transformation achieved impressive results, with 97.1% of 220kV substations converted to remote operation and effective application of AI and UAVs in production activities.

Regarding investment and construction, despite facing numerous obstacles related to procedures and site clearance, EVNNPT achieved an investment value of over VND 29 trillion (nearly 140% of the plan). The Corporation commenced 42 projects and energized 49 projects, notably including the Vinh Yen, Quang Tri, and Thot Not 500kV substations, as well as the Lao Cai – Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project.

In 2026, EVNNPT targets transmitting 276.5 billion kWh, striving to commence 87 projects and energize 86 projects. The Corporation commits to early implementation of investment preparation, close coordination with local authorities to resolve bottlenecks, and ensuring sufficient capital mobilization, so that no transmission grid project is delayed due to lack of funding.
