Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant: Stable operation, no ash residue in 2025

15:45, 08/01/2026

This is one of the outstanding achievements of the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant in 2025. Alongside electricity production, the ash generated during the production process has been and is being effectively reused.

The Conference on summarizing Party and professional affairs in 2025 and implementing tasks for 2026 of the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant was organized on January 7th in Lam Dong province. Mr. Vo Hong Linh - Member of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) attended and delivered a speech guiding the conference.

In 2025, the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant will continue to affirm its role as an important base power source of the national power system. The total power production of the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant and Expanded Vinh Tan 4 Plant was over 8.919 billion kWh; the Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power Plant was 70.8 million kWh, effectively meeting the power system's mobilization requirements during many peak load periods. Economic and technical indicators such as self-consumption rate, failure rate, and response coefficient were well controlled.

Party Secretary and Director of Plant, Vu Thanh Hai, presenting report.

The plant maintains efficient operation of its exhaust gas, wastewater, dust, and solid waste treatment systems in accordance with current regulations and standards. Environmental parameters are monitored automatically and continuously 24/7, and data is transmitted directly to state management agencies for supervision. The environmental management and occupational safety and health management system, according to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, continues to be maintained and improved. Industrial hygiene and dust control in production areas are carried out regularly, contributing to building a green, clean, safe, and friendly working environment for workers and the surrounding community.

In particular, the total volume of fly ash consumed during the year reached over 480,000 tons, equivalent to 206.85% of the amount of fly ash generated during the year. Notably, the amount of fly ash remaining at the ash disposal site in 2025 will be 0 tons. Fly ash generated from power production is gradually being effectively reused as construction materials, serving infrastructure projects, in line with the circular economy and sustainable development orientation, contributing to reducing environmental pressure and saving land resources.

EVN Party Committee Member and Board Member Vo Hong Linh giving keynote speech

Speaking at the conference, EVN Party Committee Member and Board Member Vo Hong Linh acknowledged and commended the efforts made by the staff and workers in maintaining the safe and stable operation of the plant. Mr. Vo Hong Linh highly appreciated the very good economic and technical indicators, including an availability factor of 99.2%, and low self-consumption and incident rates. In particular, Mr. Vo Hong Linh emphasized that environmental protection is a highlight for 2025, with the ash and slag consumption rate exceeding 206% of the generated volume, contributing to fundamentally resolving environmental issues of public concern.

Individuals from Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant receiving commendations from Vietnam Electricity (EVN) for their outstanding achievements in 2025

Entering 2026, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant aims to continue operating its units safely, stably, and efficiently, fully meeting the production and business plan as assigned by EVN. Improving the quality of repair and maintenance work and applying advanced technical solutions will continue to be promoted to ensure high reliability and availability of equipment, contributing to the stable power supply for the system.

Environmental treatment systems will continue to operate stably, strictly controlling emission parameters to ensure meeting or exceeding permitted standards. In addition, the plant will continue to maintain the effectiveness of management systems according to international standards, strengthen the application of digital technology in environmental monitoring, and move towards smart, transparent, and proactive environmental management.

The plant also aims to maintain a high rate of fly ash consumption in 2026, ensuring that generated fly ash is consumed promptly and not left to accumulate for extended periods. The plant proactively collaborates with partners and consumers to expand outlets for fly ash, contributing to promoting a circular economy, reducing emissions, and sustainably protecting the environment.
