The Mission of MARD inspecting water collection for agricultural cultivation in Hanoi on 22 February 2021
According to the Water Resources Directorate, Hoa Binh, Thac Ba and Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoirs have discharged nearly 4,7 billion m3 of water for agricultural cultivation, accumulated by the end of the first day of the third phase of water collection for rice cultivation in the winter-spring crop 2020-2021. Of which, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir has discharged 3.2 billion m3 of water, Thac Ba hydropower reservoir has discharged 585.3 million m3 and Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir has discharged 907.3 million m3.
The average water level at Son Tay Hydrological Station reached 2.72m, the highest level was 2.85m (at 13:00 on 22 February 2021), ensuring field pumping stations in Hanoi City could operate effectively.
By the end of 22 February 2021, the area with water in the whole region was 511,363/522,490 ha (reaching 97.9%), an increase of 15.5% compared to the end of the second phase. Basically, all localities have completed their water collection plan. Localities with a lower proportion of sufficient water areas are Hai Duong (93.6%) and Hanoi City (92.6%).
