The goal of reducing the average power outage time of each customer in Ho Chi Minh City to below 97 minutes

According to information from Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation  (EVNHCMC), in 2021, the Corporation strives to implement the SAIDI index (average power failure time of each customer) equal to or less than 97 minutes.

EVNHCMC will thoroughly apply advanced technologies, measures to construct and repair the power grid without interruption to supply power to customers such as: live-line construction and repair for medium and high voltage power grids; widely apply the CMB method of maintenance to the grid (requirement-based maintenance/ condition-based maintenance); focusing on completing the repair and maintenance of power grid projects on schedule.

In 2021, the Corporation continues to promote grid automation such as: maintaining 100% 110kV substations operating in unmanned model/remote control; research and successfully build digital 110kV substations; increase the rate of automation of medium voltage grid to 40%, and so on.

EVNHCMC also continues to improve the quality of technical management, and operation management of the power system; increase the application of equipment for testing and diagnostics, contributing to reducing incidents and improving power supply reliability; effectively implementing solutions to prevent and reduce incidents on the grid, especially for groups of common fault causes; focusing on the management of the high voltage grid corridor, review and complete the circuit structure, etc.

In 2020, the SAIDI index of EVNHCMC will reach 43.8 minutes. To achieve this achievement, EVNHCM has carried out 14,409 live-line construction times  on the medium voltage grid, an increase of 4,856 times compared to that in 2019; performed 6,647 times of cleaning insulators with high-pressure water on the medium voltage grid and 20 times on the high voltage grid. In particular, together with 16 medium voltage live-line performance teams to meet the power grid repair, maintenance and construction requirements of Power Companies, EVNHCMC has also successfully trained 01 live-line construction team of 110kV, put into operation in December 2020.

In the past year, EVNHCMC has also completed the conversion and is effectively operating 100% of 110kV substations in unmanned mode/ remote control, of which 48/54 substations are operating completely in unmanned mode. EVNHCMC has completed the equipment and efficient operation of the mini SCADA function for 100% of the 22kV line, including 30% of the public lines provided with the DAS/DMS function (level-2 automation). The 110kV grid is maintained to meet the N-1 standard, the stations in the inner city meet the N-2 norm, and prevent under/full/overload status prolonged in normal operation mode.
