PTC3 practiced a forest fire prevention and fighting rehearsal in and adjacent to the right-of-way of 500 kV power grid

Power Transmission Company 3 has just cooperated with Phan Dien Protection Forest Management Board (Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province) to organize a forest fire prevention and fighting rehearsal in and adjacent to the right-of-way of 500 kV power grid at the section between towers 0709 and 0710 of Vinh Tan - Song May 500 kV transmission line and the section between towers 58 and 59 of Vinh Tan - Song May - Tan Uyen 500 kV transmission line (two parallel lines).

A hypothetical situation of fire under the right-of-way of 500 kV transmission lines was promptly controlled by the rehearsal units

The rehearsal aimed to well prepare for the coordination among related organizations in forest fire prevention and fighting, when the South Central region is coming to the dry season and thus the risk of forest fire occurrence is at a high level.

With a hypothetical fire covering an area of about 250 m², after more than 2 hours from detection, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished, ensuring safety in all aspects.

The rehearsal force has well applied the policy of 4 actions on site, including: on-site command, on-site forces, on-site equipment and facilities, and on-site logistics. With a high sense of responsibility, the participants of the rehearsal have closely followed the proposed plan and scenario.

The rehearsal has raised the sense of responsibility for every employee of the units as well as forest owners in forest fire prevention and fighting, and helped them better understand methods and techniques of fire fighting.
