Completing Tuong Duong 220kV substation and connection line project

At 21:45 on 16 May 2022, the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) in coordination with relevant organizations performed the acceptance and energization of Tuong Duong 220kV substation and connection line project (Nghe An province).

The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation, managed and implemented by CPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.

The project scale is composed of constructing a new substation including two 220kV-125MVA transformers, one of which is installed in this phase.

Tuong Duong 220kV substation has been energized successfully

The 220kV side is designed on the diagram of the "busbar system with ring busbar" including 13 feeder bays, 9 of them are installed in this phase and 4 for backup.

The 110kV side is designed on the diagram "two-busbar system with circuit breaker communication" and has land reserved for being developed into the diagram "two-busbar system with ring busbar", including 16 feeder bays, 6 of which are installed in this phase and 10 for backup.

The 22kV side uses block diagrams and outdoor equipment to supply auxiliary power through the substation's auxiliary transformer.

As for the 220kV connection line, a section of double circuit line is constructed to connect Tuong Duong 220kV substation to the existing Ban Ve - Do Luong 220kV transmission line.

Once completed, the project will serve the grid interconnection to import electricity from Nam Mo hydropower plant cluster (Laos) to Vietnam according to the agreement between the Governments of the two countries; absorbing power from small and medium hydropower plants in the Southwest area of Nghe An province which has been constructed or prepared for construction; improving the reliability of power supply for Nghe An province.
