Completing capacity upgrade of Nghi Son 220kV substation

The 125MVA AT2 transformer of Nghi Son 220kV substation (Tinh Gia, Thanh Hoa) has been upgraded to 250MVA by The Northern Viet Nam Power Projects Management Board (NPMB) in cooperation with related units.

This substation is operating with two 250MVA transformers, it will ensure the safety and reliability of power supply for Thanh Hoa province and part of Nghe An province.

This is an energy work of Grade I, Group C, with a total investment of VND 83.3 billion invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and managed and operated by NPMB.

The project is divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 is to replace the 125MVA AT2 transformer with a new 250MVA transformer and supplement, replace, install the equipment accordingly. Phase 2 will be to equip 110kV short-circuit current limiting reactance on 110kV side, it is expected to be energized by 2020.
