The official session of the 2021 Procurement Conference was held by the Vietnam Electricity (EVN) on November 18, in the form of a video conference from EVN's headquarters (Hanoi) to more than 200 endpoints of EVN’s member organizations nationwide.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Hao Hung - Director of the Public Procurement Agency said that in 2021, EVN has been having the largest number of online bidding packages in the country. Accumulated from the beginning of the year, EVN has had about 15,000 bidding packages, with a total value of VND 110,000 billion. Most of EVN's bidding packages have been procured online. The scale of online bidding packages has also been increasing constantly.
The saving rate through annual procurement activities of the Group has always remained at a high level, above 10%. Solutions have been confidently applied by EVN for bidding packages of great value so as to organize online bidding such as: Bidding package for civil works of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Extension Project (of VND 3,109 billion); Bidding package for civil works of Ialy Hydropower Plant Extension Project (of VND 2,368 billion).

Chairman of this conference, Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh – Vice President of EVN said that in order to ensure "competitiveness, fairness, transparency and efficiency" in procurement activities, over the past time, EVN has synchronously implemented solutions, especially including the application of IT and digital technology.
In particular, EVN has reviewed and updated the system of internal regulations, rules and processes to serve as a basis for implementing procurement and bidding activities in accordance with legal regulations and to meet the practical needs of member organizations; further using a specific set of procurement criteria in the cost-optimization scoring system throughout EVN, evaluating the performance of each member organizations and their leaders every year; continuously organizing training courses, workshops, symposiums on procurement to improve the quality of procurement staff, etc.

EVN has also promoted the selection of contractors through the National Procurement Network System; deploying application and management of procurement activities within the Group through a construction investment software (including procurement module) and the material and equipment management information system; applying EVN's annual contractor quality evaluation results to procurement activities, etc.
