In execution of the Program 30a initiated by the Government, during 2016, EVN continued to implement projects for electricity supply from the national grid to remote villages; to give presents to poor households, families under preferential treatment policy; to provide food, necessities to improve the living of students, etc. with the total spendings of nearly VND 50 billion, with the aim of assisting 3 poor districts namely Phong Tho, Tan Uyen and Than Uyen (Lai Chau province).
Also in 2016, EVN donated nearly VND 7 billion to the people in the Central region who suffered natural disasters, typhoons, floods; providing for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families under preferential treatment policy, families accredited with contributions to the revolution; building Trade Union shelters, financially supporting employees suffering difficulties more than VND 11.5 billion.
EVN in coordination with Vietnam Television (VTV) awarded more than 500 Vietnamese Trust scholarships to poor but studious students all over the country, with the total spending of VND 1.5 billion.
EVN additionally spent on building a lot of public works such as: Multi-purpose cultural house in Truong Sa island commune (Khanh Hoa province); natural disaster prevention works for the Central region; construction of ethnic minority boarding school, elementary schools in Phu Yen district (Son La), Kim Son district (Ninh Binh), traffic projects, irrigation projects in Sa Thay district (Kon Tum), Bac Tra My (Quang Nam)...
Just in the “Customer Gratitude” Month (December 2016), EVN gave more than 35,000 presents, free of charge electricity repairs for 15,600 poor households, families under preferential treatment houses; execution of rural road lightening program for more than 300 roads; organization of the second Pink week EVN for voluntary blood donation...
