The Conference for year-end summary of 2016 and execution of assignments of 2017 of Power Generation Company No. 3 (EVNGENCO 3) occurred on January 12, 2017 in Hochiminh City.
The President and CEO of EVN Mr. Dang Hoang An highly appreciated achievements made by the Company during 2016, among which serious execution of environmental protection activities at power plants, particularly coal fired thermal power plants, for instance the Company completely cleared up dark smoke release caused by the startup of Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant.
Regarding the objectives and assignments of EVNGENCO 3 in 2017, the President and CEO requested EVNGENCO 3 to continue playing a leading role in undertaking responsibilities for electricity supply to the Southern region. Accordingly, EVNGENCO 3’s power plants in operation to provide electricity to the South should be maintained in the best condition, operated with the highest availability, without any exceptions even those rarely being operated such as Thu Duc, Ba Ria thermal power plants.
In investment and construction activities, the President and CEO Mr. Dang Hoang An requested the Company to perform projects on schedule such as Vinh Tan 4, Vinh Tan 4 extension, Thai Binh thermal power projects, etc. In addition, the Company shall continue to execute strictly environmental protection activities in power plants; to operate and well manage hydro power plants including irrigation works to provide water to downstream area and flood prevention.

According to Mr. Le Van Danh – Vice President of EVNGENCO 3, the Company primarily accomplished their tasks and plans assigned in 2016. The electricity output generated by the Company was 33.65 billion kWh, equivalent to 101.6% of the plan and 112,1% in comparison with the year 2015.
The Company has successfully tackled outstanding technical problems in Vinh Tan 2 and Mong Duong 1 thermal power plants; schedule milestones of Vinh Tan 4 and Thai Binh thermal power projects have all been reached on time, etc.

Some targeted norms of EVNGENCO 3 for the year 2017:
- Electricity generation output: over 35.08 billion kWh
- Implementation of 18 overhaul projects for power units and other auxiliary works
- Refinement and completion of measurement systems, environmental monitoring systems
- Development of information technology system for the period 2017 – 2020
