EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong welcomes and works with senior leaders of Voith Hydro (Germany)

On the afternoon of October 22 in Hanoi, EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong and representatives of EVN's professional departments welcomed a senior leadership delegation from Voith Hydro (Germany), which is working on the renovation, upgrading, and maintenance of hydropower plants.

On the Voith Hydro Group side, Mr. Sunil Pandiri - Chief Service Officer, global Board of Management of Voith Hydro led the delegation; Mr. Sumit Sanyal - General Director of Voith Hydro Southeast Asia; Mr. Mohit Kumar - General Director of Voith Hydro Vietnam Co., Ltd., and members of the Voith Hydro Board of Directors.

Mr. Sunil Pandiri said that Voith Hydro Group values ​​this meeting and desires to participate in projects to renovate, upgrade, and maintain EVN's hydropower plants. Voith Hydro always updates and develops the latest technology to improve plant efficiency compared to old technology, minimize unplanned downtime, and apply digital transformation in plant operation and maintenance to reduce management, operation, and maintenance costs of hydropower projects, maximizing benefits for investors. Currently, Voith Hydro has established a technical support center in Jakarta, with a 24/7 team of highly specialized and experienced engineers to handle all customer requests. Voith Hydro's representatives desire to discuss and orient cooperation with EVN around the above issues.

EVN Vice President Pham Hong Phuong welcomed the policy of Voith Hydro and hoped that during this working trip to Vietnam, Voith Hydro Group would have more research and discussion on investment and cooperation opportunities in equipment supply for hydropower projects, especially pumped storage hydropower in Vietnam. From 2030 to 2050, pumped storage hydropower will be a priority source for development towards Vietnam's NetZero goal by 2050.

EVN Vice President also expressed his desire that Voith Hydro would share knowledge on renovation, upgrading, and maintenance of hydropower plants, digital transformation in plant operations; and prepare a strategy to participate in the equipment supply market for pumped storage hydropower projects in Vietnam in the coming time.

With more than 155 years of experience in the hydropower sector, Voith Hydro has supplied more than 40,000 turbines to hydropower plants in many countries around the world.
