EVN and PVN enhance cooperation for ensuring energy security purpose

Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) will strengthen their coordination and sharing to find out orientations and solutions to promote quickly and conveniently their work and ensure benefits to both groups and work towards the common goal of ensuring national energy security.

On 3 March 2020, in Hanoi, leaders of the two groups assessed the implementation results of the strategic cooperation agreement signed in March 2018, and exchanged opportunities for cooperation and coordination in deploying production and business activities.

Chairman of EVN’s Board of Directors Duong Quang Thanh acknowledged the efforts of PVN and Vietnam Gas Corporation (PVGAS) in supplying gas to power plants in recent years. At the same time, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh suggested that PVN should give priority and create any favorable condition to supplying gas as required to power generation at high level in the coming time and have specific solutions to search for gas supply at reasonable prices to replace and supplement the degraded gas sources, ensuring fuel gas supply for power generation.

EVN also proposed that PVN should continue to ensure safe and stable operation of PVN's power plants to contribute power output to the national power system. Regarding PVN's on-going power plant projects, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh desires PVN's leaders to continue giving instructions to put these projects into operation in the shortest time.

Chairman of PVN’s Board of Directors Tran Sy Thanh highly appreciated the cooperation and coordination in deploying many energy-related works between PVN and EVN in the past two years. At the same time, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh agreed with the comments and recommendations of EVN’s leaders. PVN and its members units will continue to work closely with EVN in their fields of activity, especially in providing the maximum possible gas supply for power generation.

In the coming time, in the process of continuous implementing the strategic cooperation agreement, the two groups will strengthen coordination and sharing to find out orientations and solutions to promote quickly and conveniently their work and ensure benefits to both groups and work towards the common goal of ensuring national energy security.
