EVN and Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee remove obstacles in power projects

On April 17, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien and Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) Nguyen Tai Anh co-chaired a meeting on the investment status of power projects in Quang Ngai, the focus on compensation and site clearance for the shared infrastructure project for Dung Quat I, II, and III combined gas turbine power plants.

According to EVN's report, the shared infrastructure project for Dung Quat I, II, and III combined gas turbine power plants (Infrastructure Project) has been organized and implemented by EVN for a number of items: Leveling and constructing dikes, gates, fences, guard houses, etc. Up to now, about 47.8% of the volume has been completed; The road system has completed about 10.1% of the volume.

The total planned area of Dung Quat Power Center is 247.6 hectares, of which land area is 93.57 hectares, including EVN's area of 81.5 hectares, Sembcorp Group's area of 12 hectares; and water surface area is about 154 hectares. Up to now, EVN's area has completed approval of the compensation, support, and site clearance plan of about 73.68ha/81.5ha (reaching 90.40%).

Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien directs departments and localities to resolve problems

EVN proposes Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches, Binh Son District People's Committee, and related agencies to focus on completely resolving existing problems and issues regarding site clearance of the Infrastructure Project, completing handover clean site for EVN in 2024 to implement the Infrastructure Project.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien assigned Binh Son District People's Committee to coordinate with the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant units to develop a specific plan to resolve land clearance issues at Dung Quat Power Center that EVN recommended, and complete the report before April 30, 2024.

Representatives of EVN units express their opinions on situation of power supply and power project implementation in Quang Ngai province.

At the meeting, EVN and the Provincial People's Committee also exchanged information about power planning in Quang Ngai province. According to Power Plan VIII and Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII, it is expected to develop power transmission grid projects in the province such as Increasing the capacity of 220kV substation connecting to Doc Soi 500kV substation; new construction of Dung Quat 2 220kV substation; and new construction of Quang Ngai 2 220kV substation.

EVN will base on the actual load demand of the province to implement procedures for investment policies and in case of approval by Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, the above projects will be deployed investment in with appropriate progress of The Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 262/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2024.

Regarding the province's planning, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and Quang Ngai Power Company have reviewed the planning including the investment portfolio for developing power grid infrastructure in Quang Ngai province for the 2021- 2030 period, vision to 2050; continue to coordinate and propose investment in 110kV power projects in the province; concentrate solutions to ensure the development of power grid infrastructure, ensure the stable power supply, and meet the needs of economic and social development in Quang Ngai province.
