At EVN side, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ngo Son Hai - Vice President and representatives of EVN functional departments, and leaders of Power Corporations attended the ceremony.

The total amount of loans assisted to power projects by the World Bank has been gradually growing, scopes and areas of financial assistances have been broadened. In the period of 2010 – 2015 alone, the total investment costs of power projects funded by the World Bank reached over USD 2 billion.
Thanks to this financial resource, EVN has effectively implemented a lot of power generating and power network projects, thus contributed significantly to promoting economic development, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, agricultural and rural development, and infrastructure development in Vietnam. These achievements have confirmed a strong support from the World Bank to the renovation of Vietnam in general and of the Power sector in particular.
Taking this chance, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh congratulated Ms. Victoria Kwakwa on being promoted as World Bank Vice President for East Asia and Pacific Region.
At the ceremony, Ms. Victoria Kwakwa expressed her thanks to Mr. Chairman as well as EVN’s leaders and colleagues for awarding her such a great honor.
Ms. Victoria Kwakwa said that in her new position as World Bank Vice President for East Asia and Pacific Region, she in coordination with the WB’s colleagues shall continue her strong supports for the Power sector of Vietnam and ensure that the partnership between the WB and EVN will get more successful and elevated to a higher level.
