EVN participates in the Vietnam - Singapore Senior Governance Forum

The Vietnam - Singapore Senior Governance Forum took place on October 21 with the theme "Improving resilience, planning and implementing strategies in the new normal status: Experiences from Singapore for the energy industry". The forum is organized in an online form, connecting the conference stations of the two countries. Mr. Vo Quang Lam - Deputy General Director of EVN represented Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to join the event.

The forum is organized for peer leaders who run businesses in the energy industry of the two countries with the aim of sharing governance experiences, solutions to business challenges to maintain, grow and develop businesses even in crisis conditions. This is also an opportunity for businesses in the energy industry to learn more about global energy industry development trends; strategic redirection to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic of leading corporations in Singapore as well as in the region such as Temasek Group, Sembcorp, and so on.

Information about EVN's situation in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic spreading in Vietnam for many months, EVN’s Deputy General Director said, to ensure sufficient power supply for socio-economic development and pandemic prevention and control, EVN has applied information technology, digital transformation in the field of production and business, and at the same time promoted vaccination to ensure the health of employees. Besides, EVN has also actively carried out social security works, sharing difficulties with the community.

According to the Deputy General Director, over the past time, EVN has regularly coordinated with Singapore Energy Group (Singapore Power) to exchange experiences in digital transformation in corporate governance, business - customer service. EVN has also discussed with its Singaporean partner in completing a set of smart grid indicators, bringing the power grid of Vietnam Electricity to a high level of power supply availability, ensuring electricity growth for the period from 2022-2025. In addition, in the Heads of ASEAN Power Utilities/ Authorities (HAPUA), EVN is also the unit that actively organizes and participates in forums and seminars to learn experiences from other countries.

This is a forum not only for business leaders of the two countries to share experiences in overcoming the crisis but also for creating values and further tightening the good relationship between Vietnam and Singapore.
