EVN strives to achieve power loss rate of 6.7% in 2019

The 2019 plan of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is to reduce its power loss (PL) rate to 6.7% (decreased by 0.13% compared to that of 2018).

To achieve this target, the Group is continuing to develop technical and operation management models towards no incidents occurring on the power grid, particularly ones caused by subjective reasons. In particular, EVN will further apply technologies which cause no power cut in repairing, maintaining and constructing power grid works (including the existing cross-grid ones) as well as prepare appropriate construction measures.

In 2018, EVN's power loss rate was 6.83%, 0.37% lower than the target in its plan (7.20%) and decreased by 0.41% in comparison with that of 2017 (7.24%).

Throughout the country, there are 8 power companies  the power loss rate under 3%, including: Thu Duc, Sai Gon, Duyen Hai, Tan Phu (under Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation); Binh Duong (Southern Power Corporation); Vinh Phuc, Lao Cai (Northern Power Corporation); Hai Ba Trung (Hanoi Power Corporation). The number of units with that outcome doubles that of 2017. Currently, there has been no power company with the power loss rate higher than 9%.
