EVN's role in launching the forum
According to Mr. Phan Minh Tuan - Head of EVN’s International Relations Department, Vietnam Electricity was proud to be the first power utility in ASEAN to launch the forum and hoped this would be the start of good practice in the future.
This forum hosted by EVN is part of the HAPUA cooperation program, being implemented in coordination with HAPUA’s Working Group No. 5 on human resources which is viewed as the most dynamic one among HAPUA's working groups.
To cooperate, share experiences, and establish a system to regularly exchange information on business and customer services activities in the electricity sector, the forum invited leaders in charge of business activities from ASEAN’s power utilities/authorities to share solutions to improve quality and diversify forms of electricity service delivery.
During this forum, as per EVN’s proposal, EVN and the delegations from ASEAN’s power utilities/authorities signed the forum's Joint Statement, expressing commitment to and cooperation goodwill in information and experience exchange, HR training, expert exchange in the field of business and customer service regularly.

At the forum, Mr. Bui Quoc Hoan - Deputy Head of EVN’s Business Department gave a comprehensive presentation about EVN's business and customer service activities in the past and upcoming directions.
Specifically, in recent years, EVN has had breakthrough innovations with many achievements recognized by international organizations in the field of business and customer service. EVN's customer growth rate is on average 5%/year. The Getting Electricity index ranks 27/190 countries/economies. In addition, the electricity index is in the top 3 best indicators among the 10 indicators assessing Vietnam's business environment. EVN also has made outstanding innovations in digital transformation, standardizing business processes in a customer-centric direction, building a customer service ecosystem, etc. In parallel, EVN has been implementing its energy transition, enhancing energy efficiency and electricity-saving projects.

After the presentation from the host EVN, the forum focused on discussing 4 topics: Building and managing customer experience; Digital transformation in business and customer service; Energy transition, economical and efficient use of energy; Developing, applying, and managing advanced metering infrastructure. Delegates from ASEAN countries presented and brought to the forum a lot of updated information and highly practical experiences.
In the forum, five thematic panel discussions were organized, dedicated to direct information exchange and experience sharing among the delegates on issues of concern. At the same time, the cooperation program for 2024 was put on the table.

The success of this year's forum marks a new cooperation milestone and expands opportunities for the regional power sectors in developing and enhancing the role of business and customer service in the overall operations of their power utilities/authorities.
The leader of EVN believed that cooperation in business and customer service business among ASEAN countries will be further promoted in the coming time.
