EVNGENCO3 and Corio Generation sign MOU on offshore wind power cooperation

Under the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, representatives of Vietnamese and Australian ministries and authorities, Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3) and Corio Generation signed and handed over a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in developing offshore wind power project in Vietnam. The signing program took place within the framework of the Vietnam - Australia Business Forum, on March 5, in Melbourne, Australia.

EVNGENCO3 is a large power generation corporation in Vietnam, operating power generation of various types including combined cycle gas turbines, coal thermal power, hydropower, and solar power. In the period 2013 - 2023, the total electricity output of the Corporation is 306 billion kWh, with an average production of more than 30 billion kWh/year. Over the past years, EVNGENCO3 has always sought cooperation opportunities in developing green energy projects to become a sustainable enterprise.

Corio Generation has developed many offshore wind power projects in countries with a total capacity of up to 30GW. Corio Generation has extensive experience in the field of investment, project implementation, and operation of wind power projects.

EVNGENCO3 and CORIO GENERATION hope that the internal strength of each party in the energy area will bring success to the cooperation, effectively contributing to the country's energy transition.

Also, within the framework of the working program in Australia, EVNGENCO3 had a working session with Australian financial and business partners on plans and roadmaps for arranging finance to develop projects in the near future.
