EVNHCMC: Many production and business targets “reaches the target” of 2020

​​​​​​​With outstanding results gained in 2018, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) continues to prove to be the leading unit in distribution block of Vietnam Electricity.

In 2018, many targets of EVNHCMC not only achieved and overfulfilled the plan, but also achieved the target in 1 to 2 years ahead of the set roadmap to 2020 - Chairman of EVN’s Member Council Duong Quang Thanh appraised the Corporation at the Conference on 11 January 2019.

Particularly, two typical indexes of EVNHCMC achieving the target set by EVN with 2 years earlier: Power loss reached 3.27%, decreasing by 0.31% compared to 2017 and 0.37% compared to the year plan; power supply reliability MAIFI was 0.29 time; SAIDI was 124 minutes; SAIFI was 1.6/5 times

The access-to-electricity index of Viet Nam with assessment conducted in Ho Chi Minh City also showed a giant leap: Increasing by 37 grades compared to 2017, ranking 27/190 countries and 4th in ASEAN region, which is 2 years ahead of the Government’s plan. These are special efforts made by EVNHCMC in improving reliability, promoting information and communication and supporting customers in procedures and shortening the construction time of substation, etc.

 In 2018, EVNHCMC strongly applied science and technology into its production, business and investment activities in development. Up to now, 100% of 110kV substation of the corporation has been operated in un-manned mode; repair technologies of hotline, live-line, hotline porcelain washing, digital map have been effectively performed.

For the year of 2019, EVN Chairman Duong Quang Thanh asks the corporation to further improve its efficiency in production and business, increase labour productivity, practice power saving and prepare plans for proactively regulating load in case of failure to meet demand of the power system.

EVNHCMC needs to accelerate the progress of investment and construction of works to ensure power supply for the city; proactively review power development planning to make appropriate adjustments in line with actual needs.

The customer services of the corporation also should be enhanced to maintain the leading unit of EVN on customer satisfaction score in the coming years, with the target of over 8.5 scores. Particularly, the corporation should prepare a plan for non-cash payment for electricity bills in the year of 2019.

“By the year of 2020, at least 5 power companies under EVNHCMC should be listed on Top 10 of Viet Nam and a number of power companies of ASEAN 4 group,” Chairman of EVN’s Member Council assigned targets.

Reporting at the conference, Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC Tran Khiem Tuan said that, with the efforts by  all staffs and employees, the corporation has overcome all difficulties, ensured safe, reliable power supply, serving the socio-economic development of the city with increasingly high quality. Commercial power output in 2018 reached over 24.4 billion kWh, increasing by 6.75% over the same period in 2017.

The corporation has installed and put 1,200 switchgears with SCADA function into operation, completed private telecommunication infrastructure, carried out remote control of 80% of the public, line-connected, specialized medium-voltage transmission lines, including 20% of public lines being automatically operated.

At the same time, components of the smart power grid have been put into adequate operation, typically in 04 areas: Commercial office area in District 1; Mieu Noi; Phu My residential areas; High-tech Zone, etc.

The corporation has applied electricity bill payment through 23 banks and 09 intermediary partners with 6,857 payment points. Up to now, the proportion of customers in non-cash payment has reached 89.56%; the corporation has completed installing 19 grid-connected solar power works at headquarters of its units, mobilized 906 customers to install grid-connected solar power with a total capacity of 10.382MWp; enabling more than 1.56 million workers, students and employees renting house to use power in regulated   price, increasing by 96,167 people compared to that of 2017.

Particularly, in 2018, the customer satisfaction score by the assessment of independent consultants reached 8.33/10 scores, increasing by 0.07 point compared to 2017 and 0.03 point compared to the target assigned by the Group (8.3 scores); all power companies reached over 8 scores.

Some main targets of EVNHCMC in 2019:

- Commercial power output: reach 25.85 billion kWh, increasing by 5.77% compared to 2018.

- Power loss: ≤ 3.45%.

- Power saving: ≥ 1.65% of commercial power output (426 million kWh).

- Reliability of power supply: SAIDI <120 minutes; SAIFI <1.20 times.

- ≥ 92% of customers making non-cash electricity bill payment.

- Labour productivity by commercial power output reaches 4.5 million kWh/labour, striving to reach 5 million kWh/labour;

- Labour productivity by customers reaches 432 customers/labour, striving to reach 500 customers/labour;

- Ensure absolute safety for people and asset, no occupational accidents.
