Live-line power repair works significantly contributing to improvement of power supply reliability
Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Services Company, said: Established in 1997, with 2 teams and 12 members, up to now, EVNHCMC's live-line construction workforce has been developed to 10 teams and 60 members.
Live-line power repair is one of the key solutions contributing to effectively improving the indicators of power supply reliability in the area. Particularly, the SAIFI index of EVNHCMC was 6.72 times (2015) down to 3.02 times by 2017; the SAIFI index also fell from 720 minutes (2015) to 232 minutes (2017).
Currently, EVNHCMC is strengthening the trainings on the live-line repair workforce, with the goal of bringing 6 live-line teams into operation by the end of 2018, meeting the requirements of 16 affiliated power companies.
EVNHCMC also strives to stop power cutting to repair the grid (except for force majeure) from 2019. All the works on the grid will be done with live-line technology.
Currently, the Corporation has a team of professionals and skilled workers qualified enough to train new workers in this field. In addition to training local forces, EVNHCMC has also been training for other power corporations under Viet Nam Electricity.
