EVNSPC completed excellently its 2020 tasks

That was the assessment of the General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) at the Conference on summarizing the work in 2020, implementing the tasks in 2021 of the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC), on the afternoon of 22 January 2021, at Ho Chi Minh City.

General Director of EVN Tran Dinh Nhan praised EVNSPC for its excellent completion of the tasks assigned by EVN in the past year, ensuring power supply in southern provinces and cities with a growth rate of 3.8%.

In the past five years, EVNSPC had ‘reached the target’ one year ahead with the criteria of power supply reliability and failure rate. Besides, the Corporation also performed well in reducing power loss, automating the power network; bring power to rural, mountainous areas and islands, etc.

EVNSPC had also operated very effectively with financial indicators and cost norms being fulfilled and surpassed the plan assigned by EVN, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan noted.

EVNSPC had successfully energized the 110kV feeder to exploit the Phan Ri 2 220kV substation, the Thap Cham-Ninh Phuoc 110kV power line, contributing to release capacity from renewable energy power plants.

Paying attention to the application of science and technology

EVNSPC had piloted the integration of technical and business systems to reduce the number of procedures and shorten the processing time of new power supply requests. The average time for handling procedures for medium voltage power supply is 3.16 days, shortened by 0.33 days compared to 2019.

EVNSPC had also actively applied science, technology and digital transformation in production and business activities; Completed the component projects under the Project of Industrial Revolution 4.0 assigned by EVN are: "Integrating off-grid power sources in Phu Quy island district and Con Dao district".

In power system operation, EVNSPC deployed SCADA system, unmanned substations, remote control center at its units, GIS map and big data, whereby developed successfully IT application systems to improve working efficiency in the Corporation.

EVNSPC also won the award for Excellent Digital Transformation Enterprise at the Vietnam Digital Awards ceremony for the period 2019-2020 with five innovative solutions to apply technology in technical innovation and automation.

Some outstanding results of EVNSPC in 2020:

 - Power production: 74.25 million kWh, an increase of 19.75% compared to 2019

- Commercial power output: 75.4 billion kWh, an increase of 3.8% compared to 2019

- Targets on power supply reliability:

SAIDI: 287.49 minutes

SAIFI: 2.73 times/customer

MAIFI: 1.28 times/customer

- Power loss: 3.89%, a decrease of 0.01% compared to the plan assigned by EVN and 0.33% lower than the same period.

- The percentage of customers making non-cash payments reached 77.49% of customers and 91.25% of the amount collected.

Main planned targets of EVNSPC in 2021:

- Power production: 87 million kWh, an increase of 17.1% compared to that of 2020

- Commercial power: 79.2 billion kWh, an increase of 5.05% compared to that of 2020

- Power saving: 2% of commercial power output

- Power supply reliability:

SAIDI: 291 minutes, SAIFI: 2.76 times, MAIFI: 2.10 times

Labor productivity: By commercial energy is 3.92 million kWh/employee; By customer is 438 customers/employee.

- Total construction investment value: about VND8,285 billion.
