EVNNLDC has operated the power system and electricity market safely, stably, openly and transparently, making an important contribution to the overall performance of the Group. In which, the proportion of plants participating in the market currently accounts for 46.3% of the total capacity of the whole system; total costs in the spot electricity market reached VND 122,000 billion. In particular, A0 Centre also shortened the electricity market transaction cycle from 60 minutes to 30 minutes, starting from 01 September 2020, contributing to accurately and promptly handling fluctuations in system operation, increasing system stability.
The total number of power plants controlled by the National Dispatch is 264 by the end of 2020 (there are only 219 plants in 2019). Also in the past year, despite many difficulties, EVNNLDC well implemented many technical indicators, surpassing the level assigned by EVN such as frequency deviation, 500kV grid voltage deviation, etc.
EVNNLDC has also coordinated with renewable energy investors to check, accept, energize and put into operation solar power plants; closely coordinating with the National Power Transmission Corporation, the Power Corporations to accept and energize many important grid projects; shifting 220kV substations to unmanned mode; transfer control rights of 110kV substations to Power Companies; etc.

EVN's leaders also acknowledged that EVNNLDC ensures safety and reliability for information technology (IT) systems to serve power system and electricity market operation; basically complete the tasks under the theme of 2020 "Focusing on comprehensively completing the 5-year plan of 2016-2020" of EVN. EVNNLDC has actively and proactively applied science and technology in power system operation; electricity markets such as SCADA, EMS systems, bringing the system of automatic generation control (AGC) into real-time operation of RE plants, etc.
Performing "5 bests" in year 2021
The key tasks for EVNNLDC in 2021 with “5 bests”. Specifically:
Operating the power system in the safest and most stable manner: Reasonably operate new and renewable energy sources; regularly update the forecast of load demand; coordinating with hydropower plants to operate reservoirs reasonably in the dry season, during the winter-spring season, to supply water for downstream activities and especially during the flooding season; develop strict, reasonable and optimal operation plans, etc.; continuing to develop plans for the operation of power systems and electricity markets in conditions of both epidemic prevention and production.

Operating the most open and transparent electricity market and renewable energy sources: Proactively making it public and transparent for all information, ensuring that investors and customers can access and understand the operation of the power system; coordinate with the authorities to develop a fully competitive wholesale electricity market infrastructure in 2021 and prepare for a pilot competitive retail electricity market following the roadmap issued by the Government...
Developing the most modern EVNNLDC: Effectively implementing digital transformation programs, applying achievements of Industrial Revolution 4.0; connecting with power plants, transmission and distribution grid with modern technology; promptly grasping modern technology trends in the world; strengthening privacy and security; etc.
