According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc - General Director of EVNSPC, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which had a great influence on the production and business situation of the Corporation, the growth rate of commercial power of the whole Corporation decreased. From March to July, EVNSPC's 2020 commercial power output is estimated at over 75 billion kWh, an increase of more than 3.2% compared to 2019’s. "Although there is an increase in comparison with that of 2019, this is the lowest growth rate in the period of 2011 - 2020," shared Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc.

Even so, EVNSPC still ensures a stable and continuous power supply to serve hospitals, medical facilities, and isolated areas in order to strengthen COVID-19 pandemic prevention.
In the investment – construction tasks, EVNSPC has promptly energized and put into operation the works to release solar power capacity such as the outfeed bay of the 110kV at the Phan Ri 2 220kV station; the construction of the 220kV line, circuit 2 in Ninh Phuoc - Tuy Phong - Phan Ri. EVNSPC has also arranged over VND 8,500 billion to invest in the development of power systems and power grids to serve people in 21 southern provinces and cities, raising the percentage of households supplied with power to more than 99.7%, with total 2,513/2,513 communes, wards and townships, EVNSPC customers serving the province reaching over 8.5 million.
In addition, the year 2020 will also see a "boom" in the development of rooftop solar power (RSP) in the southern provinces and cities. Many member power companies such as provinces of Dong Thap, Binh Duong, Long An, etc., have surpassed 100% of the plan for the whole year of 2020 on the development of RSP. The total installed capacity of panels is currently over 2,700 MWp, an increase of 13 times compared to that of 2019. The power output generated on the grid is about 665 million kWh. The corporation has also paid to customers over VND 1,300 billion for the purchase of solar power.
EVNSPC has also paid special attention to increasing the provision of online electricity services and deploying a multi-channel to better serve customers. In which, the rate of customers transacting 12 power supply services through the Customer Care Center and the National Public Service Centers and Portal reached nearly 95%; the rate of customers using online power supply service at level 4 reached over 92%; electronicizing the entire process of providing electricity services, the rate of electronic transactions reached nearly 70%; etc.).
In December 2020, EVNSPC conducted a survey and assessment of customer satisfaction, with the expected score of customer satisfaction in 2020 continuing to increase and reach 8.27 points.
EVNSPC also pushed up non-cash payments and stopped collecting electricity bills at home. Specifically, the percentage of EVNSPC's customers making non-cash electricity payments is over 70%, surpassing the annual plan. In particular, in urban areas, the percentage of customers who do not have to be collected electricity bill at home is over 90%.
In addition, following the instructions of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Electricity of Vietnam, EVNSPC has strictly and actively implemented programs to support electricity price and electricity bill reduction for power customers who are affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
For the whole period of 2016-2020, many targets and tasks of the 5-year plan set out by the Corporation have been realized one year ahead of the plan, especially the indicators of breakdown rate and reliability in power supply, etc., are lower than that as planned. The business - customer service targets are shifted to online transactions on both the National Public Service Portal and the internet, operating and applying the digital transformation roadmap into all areas of production, business and services, customer service, etc., activities.
