EVN dedicates the best resources to the project
These transmission projects are of national significance with the aim of promptly evacuating power from Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant and renewable energy plants in the region, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the South. Executing the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the projects have been urgently implemented by Vietnam Electricity and the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).
Van Phong - Vinh Tan 500kV transmission line passing through Khanh Hoa province has a length of 88km, including 172 tower foundation positions. Up to now, Khanh Hoa province has managed to hand over the land of 52 tower positions, but none of the land in the right-of-way has been transferred to the project owner.
According to the contract signed with the Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plantinvestor, these transmission projects are scheduled to be completed no later than December 2022. If the progress is delayed, the Vietnamese side will have to indemnify the BOT investor around VND 23 billion a day. It is estimated that if the project is delayed by 6 months, the amount of indemnity the Vietnam side has to pay will be about VND 5,000 billion. If the delay is over 6 months, the BOT contract of Van Phong 1 Thermal Power Plant will be terminated early and the Government of Vietnam will have to take over the power plant.
With the urgent nature of this transmission project, Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan - EVN's President and CEO emphasized that EVN and EVNNPT have been concentrating all resources, as well as devoting all the best resources to ensure the completion of the project as being committed to the investor of Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant. EVN has directed the General Director of EVNNPT, the Director of the Central Power Project Management Board (a unit under EVNNPT, responsible for project management) to work directly with the local authorities of Khanh Hoa province to promptly solve problems.
