EVN’s President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan discusses cooperation opportunities between two sides.
At the meeting, Mr. Li Baoqing, CEO, Member of the Board of Directors of SPIC said that SPIC has joined the Vietnamese market since 2006 and has invested in 7 power projects with a total capacity of 1,520MW.
Typically, they are Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant, Vinh Hao 30MW solar power project in Ninh Thuan, Dak Hoa 50MW wind power project in Dak Nong, Luxshare 20MW solar power, Ia Pech 1,266MW wind power, and Tan Tan Nhat - Dak Glei 50MW wind power project which is ready to be put into operation. As of 2023, SPIC's projects in Vietnam have provided Vietnam’s power system with 43.419 billion kWh.
During this visit, SPIC shows their interest in investing in a number of energy projects in Vietnam, especially renewable energy and new energy projects to promote investment and development cooperation. The leader of SPIC wishes to expand the exchange of experience between the two sides in the energy transition process as well as green and new energy development, creating valuable connections and contributing to the success of energy projects in Vietnam.
On EVN's side, EVN’s President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan respectfully thanked the delegation from SPIC. According to the EVN leader, Vietnam is setting the goal of energy transition and carbon neutrality by 2050. To contribute to achieving that goal, EVN will promote the development of renewable energy. Therefore, EVN welcomes partners interested in investing in this area, as well as financial support to attract investment in renewable energy development.
