The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation. CPMB managed and operated the project. Power Transmission Company 1 took over and managed its operation after completion.
Muong Te 220kV substation (Muong Te district, Lai Chau province) with a total investment of VND436.68 billion is a newly built outdoor one, with two 220kV-250MVA transformers, in which one transformer 220kV-250MVA is installed in this phase. The 220kV side is installed according to the 2-busbar diagram, with four fully equipped 220kV bays (including one common bay, one communication bay, two double-circuit bays). The 110kV side is installed according to the 2-busbar diagram with ring busbar, 12 fully-equipped 110kV bays and space reserved for installation of other bays in the future.
The Muong Te-Lai Chau 220kV transmission line with a total investment of VND344.96 billion is deployed in Muong Te and Nam Nhun districts, Lai Chau province. This double-circuit project has a total length of 51.8km, its first terminal is at Muong Te 220kV substation and its other terminal is at Lai Chau 500kV substation.
Muong Te 220kV substation and Muong Te-Lai Chau 220kV transmission line ensure releasing capacity of small and medium hydropower plants in the Northwestern region to the national grid, strengthen the connection of regional power system, increase safety, reliability and stability in the operation of regional and national power systems.
