The project owner is National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), and the Southern Power Project Management Board is in charge of project management and implementation. The project design is undertaken by Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 3. Upon completion, the project will be transferred to Power Transmission Company 4 for operation.
Calibration test was performed before energizing 500/220kV communication transformer at Long Phu 500/220kV distribution switchyard
The project is composed of installing one 500/220/22kV - 600MVA transformer (AT1) at an available standby location in Long Phu 500/220kV distribution switchyard. An auxiliary transformer 22/0.4kV - 560kVA is installed on the 22kV side to be connected to the 22kV side of the AT1 transformer. The control-protection system is completed to match the newly installed equipment.
The project completion enables the evacuation of power generated from solar power plants and wind power plants in the Mekong Delta region to the national 500kV power grid. Along with that, the installation of the transformer and construction of transmission lines connected from the distribution switchyard will ensure a stable regional grid connection, and electricity supply for loads in the key economic region in the West South region, supporting flexible operation and efficient exploitation of the power system in the South.
