Energizing second transformer of Thuy Nguyen 220kV substation

On November 8, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) coordinated with relevant units to successfully energize the second transformer of the Thuy Nguyen 220kV Substation (Hai Phong), thereby increasing the station's capacity to 500MVA.

The project “Installation of the second transformer at the Thuy Nguyen 220kV substation” is being implemented at the existing Thuy Nguyen 220kV Substation (in Dong Son and Kenh Giang communes, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city). The project is invested by EVNNPT, managed and operated by NPTPMB on behalf of EVNNPT, and operated by Power Transmission Company No.1.

The main scale of the project includes the installation of an AT1 250MVA transformer; the installation of 01 220kV transformer bay; and the installation of 110kV bays.

Mr. Vo Luong Nhan – Deputy Director of NPTPMB said that the completion of the project "Installing the second transformer at Thuy Nguyen 220kV substation" will help increase the supply source for 110kV substations put into operation in the period of 2022-2035, meeting the load demand of Hai Phong City and its vicinity, serving the socio-economic development of Hai Phong city.

The project was practically completed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Electricity Industry's Traditional Day (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2024).
