Energizing the second 220 kV transformer at Thanh My Substation  in Quang Nam

The project will contribute to the safe and uninterrupted electricity supply to Quang Nam province and its neighboring areas, besides it will support electricity supply to Da Nang City during the APEC 2017 High Level Week in November 2017.

The project has an investment cost of more than VND 25 billion, being financed from the World Bank's DPL 1 loan, from the construction investment capital allocated by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) as planned and assigned to the Power Transmission Company 2 (PTC 2) for management.

The project items comprise of installation of an additional 220/110 kV-125 MVA transformer; extension of 220 kV feeder; addition of switching equipment for two 220 kV and 110 kV feeders of the newly installed transformer; supplementation of boundary metering system for the 110 kV line of the substation to serve the measurement; completion of the control, protection, scada system suitable for the newly installed equipment.

Thanh My 220 kV substation was put into operation in 2005 with a 220 kV – 125 MVA transformer, and a 110 kV – 40 MVA transformer. With the installation of the second 220 kV transformer, the capacity of the substation is currently 290 MVA.

The Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) and other related organizations energized and put into operation the second 220 kV transformer of Do Luong 220 kV substation (Nghe An), raising the capacity of the substation from 125 MVA to 250 MVA, contributing to improving the power supply safety and stability for Nghe An province.

This is a class B level 1 energy project, with a total investment cost of more than VND 128 billion, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT); NPMB on behalf of EVNNPT manages and implements the project.
