The photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the building have a total area of about 130 m2
The rooftop solar power project at EVN Tower (No. 11, Cua Bac street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) has a total investment cost of about VND 500 million.
Mr. Dao Minh Hien, Deputy Director of Thermal and Nuclear Power Consulting Center of PECC 2, said: "After completing installation on September 16, 2017, PECC 2 has commissioned, tested this solar power system and generated 475 kWh. Using polycrystalline cell technology with at least 16% efficiency, the system will operate efficiently, contributing to saving electricity costs and being used as a model for being generalized in Vietnam".
Representatives of PECC 2 instructed the project recipient to operate the solar power system
The photovoltaic panels are connected to the building's power system via an inverter and monitored through a SSOC system. This system allows remote operation and monitoring, so the system operation and management will be very simple and convenient. In addition, all the equipment needed for operation being designed and installed by PECC 2 is absolutely automatic. It is expected that the power output will reach over 15,000 kWh per year, saving more than VND 30 million per year.
Mr. Le Van Tung - Deputy Chief of Administration Office of EVN, representative of the recipient, management and operation organization of solar power system said that with the capacity of 19.84 kWp, this project would contribute to providing clean energy to EVN Tower. EVN’s Administration Office will operate and maintain the system in accordance with guidelines from PECC 2 to make the system generate electricity in the most efficient manner.
