Enhancing the power supply capacity of the Samsung complex (Bac Ninh province)

The Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB – under the National Power Transmission Corporation) has cooperated with related organizations to undertake commissioning and energizing the second 220 kV – 250 MVA transformer at Bac Ninh 3 220 kV substation.

Bac Ninh 3 220 kV substation is operating with two 220 kV – 250 MVA transformers. The project will contribute to improving the safe and stable supply of electricity to loads in Bac Ninh city, especially Yen Phong industrial zone and Samsung Electronics Factory complex.

This is a power project of Class I, Group C, with a total investment cost of more than VND 72 billion, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and managed by NPMB.

The Samsung Vietnam complex was first established in Yen Phong Industrial Zone (Bac Ninh) in 2008. Through nearly a decade, Samsung Vietnam has expanded its operation by establishing more factories in Thai Nguyen and Ho Chi Minh City. The Research and Development Center is located in Hanoi with around 160,000 employees. In 2017 alone, Samsung Vietnam has exceeded its export target of USD 50 billion.
