Ensure safe, reliable, high-quality power supply in the 2021 dry season

This is one of the directions of Deputy General Director of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) Ngo Son Hai to member units, at the meeting on modes of operating the national power system in March and the 2021 dry season. The meeting took place on 23 February, in Hanoi.

Mr. Ngo Son Hai said that in 2021, power supply in the dry season as well as in the whole year will be ensured. The power system has redundancy in power sources and there is an excess of generating capacity during midday off-peak hours.

In 2021, the power system is expected not to mobilize expensive oil power sources, unless unusual factors occur.

In order to ensure safe, reliable, high-quality power supply, Mr. Ngo Son Hai required all units to focus on technical management, improve the reliability of power supply, reduce incidents, the National Power Transmission Corporation and the Power Corporations to accelerate the progress and to complete power grid projects as planned, EVN Technical Committee and units to soon review and plan to implement digital transformation in the field of engineering.

In the first two months of 2021, EVN and its subordinate units have ensured safe and reliable power supply for socio-economic development and people's life. This is a great effort of the units, especially in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, causing decrease in demand, forcing the National Load Dispatch Center to cut down on power sources, including renewable energy sources.
