Ensuring Progress of Power Generation Projects

According to a report of the Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN), the power generation projects owned by EVN are assured of the construction progress.

Specifically, with regard to the projects in the Vinh Tan Power Center: Dredging the coal port of 100,000 tons; taking over of 3.9 ha of the sea surface of Vinh Tan Expansion Thermal Power Plant No. 4. At the site, work items are continually being conducted such as ground leveling and survey for detailed design of items.     

For the projects under Duyen Hai Power Center: Both two power units of the Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant continuously generate power in the month with a capacity for 500 MW each; the construction of the Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant project has a good progress compared to previous months. On July 12, the startup of the boiler by oil and cleaning and shoot-blowing of the boiler of power unit 1 was done. On July 14, the purchasing contract of 450,000 tons coal for testing was signed with partners. The Duyen Hai 3 Expansion Project is basically kept close to the planned progress.

In addition, for the power projects to generate power in 2016 such as Trung Son Hydropower project, Song Bung 2 Hydropower project and Power Unit No. 3 of Lai Chau Hydropower Plant, the construction progress is in accordance with the generation schedule from now until the end of the year.

In August, EVN requested the Power project management boards of Vinh Tan and Duyen Hai Thermal Power Complex to urge the contractors providing additional manpower to speed up the construction progress. For Song Bung 2 Hydropower project, all the items are strived to be completed to store water for the reservoir from the end of August and to generate power in November and December 2016.  For Trung Son Hydropower Plant project, the installation of the rotor of the power unit No. 1 will be completed in August 2016.
