According to Power Generation Corporation No.3 (the bid solicitor), the winning price was USD 39.793 million, equivalent to nearly VND 925 billion (the bidding package price was more than VND 1,567 billion).

There were 3 other bidders participating in the international competitive bidding for the above-mentioned bid package. In which, two bidders Wel-hunt Materials Enterprise Co., Ltd., and Glencore International AG failed in the financial evaluation stage, ranking 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

HSNS Joint Venture was rejected in the technical evaluation stage, because the bidder did not provide technical specifications of the offered coal.

Tata International Singapore Pte Limited (India) is a subsidiary of Tata International Group. This is not the first time Tata wins a coal supply contract in Vietnam.

In 2017, Tata International Singapore Pte Limited in consortium with Franky won 2 contracts of coal supply for commercial operation of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant. The total awarded price was USD 96.1 million. In particular, the first contractor selection was organized in February 2017 under the form of international competitive bidding and the second one in November 2017 was direct shopping.

Bid packages won by this company in the last 3 years have been mainly the ones of consulting services, equipment supply, civil works in foreign countries such as Laos and Cambodia, etc.
