From 2019: EVNHCMC shall no longer cut power off when working on grid

This is confirmed by Mr. Vuong Quoc Minh - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Power Service Company (under Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation - EVNHCMC) at the event of launching 6 live-line working groups (repair on transmission line carrying power) on 1 December 2018. Thus, EVNHCMC currently has a total of 16 groups doing this work.

Live-line work helping EVNHCMC effectively improve reliability of power supply

The supplementation of these 6 live-line groups is aimed at meeting the need for live-grid working without power interruption of 16 power companies under EVNHCMC.

From 2019, EVNHCMC will no longer have to cut power off when conducting such activities as connecting stations of special purpose, regular repair, major repairs, etc.

The 16 live-line groups of the Corporation are fully equipped with modern vehicles, equipment such as hoister trucks, carpets, gloves, etc., to perform repair and maintenance works on live power grid.

Annually, the work force of live-line groups from EVNHCMC performs thousands of repair and maintenance turns. Particularly in the first 10 months of 2018, the total number reached 5,155 turns, thereby contributing to effectively improving indexes of power supply reliability in the locality.

In particular, the SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) in Ho Chi Minh City in the first 10 months of 2018 has decreased by nearly 62% over the same period in 2017.

Since 1997, EVNHCM has invested in and established 2 first live-line groups, who are directly trained by American experts.
