Hoa Binh Hydropower Power Plant (HPP) playing a crucial important role in flood control for Northern Delta
In addition to favorable hydrological conditions, over the past time, the Company has properly performed hydrological forecast, flexibly implemented mobilization plan of the National Load Dispatch Centre.
This is also the year with largest load of repair work performed by the Company so far (overhauling and upgrading four generator units). Items are properly deployed as per schedule and ensured safety, timely put into operation and exploitation in the rainy and flood season.
In the last 2 months of 2018, the Company will continue to ensure proper performance of water regulation and storage for reservoir to serve water supply for aerating and loosening soil in the Winter-Spring 2018-2019 crop as well as generating power in 2019.
Furthermore, the Company will urgently conduct the overhaul, upgrading of the control system for generator units 1 and 2 to be put into operation before the time of supply water for the Winter-Spring crop.
Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant is located at the last terrace step on the Da River with 4 main tasks of preventing flood, generating power, preventing drought and ensuring waterway transport.
The annual power output of the Plant is about 10 billion kWh/year. Hoa Binh Hydropower reservoir supplies from 2 to 3.2 billion m3 water/year for aerating and loosening soil and cultivating in the Winter-Spring crop for the Northern Midland and Delta in the dry season, accounting for 65-70% of the total flow discharge from reservoirs.
