Increasing capacity of Tam Ky 220kV substation (Quang Nam) to 275MVA

At 20h54 on 26 December 2020, the Central Viet Nam Power Project Management Board (CPMB) successfully energized the AT2 (220/110/22kV-125MVA) transformer and related equipment for the Installation of The 2nd transformer (220/110kV-125MVA) and the 110kV bays of the Tam Ky 220kV substation.

The project has a total investment of VND 123.89 billion, was commenced on 25 December 2019, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed and operated by CPMB, operated by the Power Transmission Company No. 2.

Once completed, the project contributes to meet the increasing demand for additional loads of Quang Nam province, ensuring long-term stable, reliable power supply for socio-economic development in the region.

Before energizing, the 220kV substations have a capacity of 150MVA include AT1 (220/110/22kV-125MVA) and T3 (110/22/11kV-25MVA) transformers. After completing the new installation, the AT2 transformer has increased the substation's capacity to 275MVA.
