Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha - Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of Bao Yen district shared that households in Mo 1, 2 and 3 villages are ethnic minority people of Mong, Dao and Phu La ethnic groups. 100% of households are poor and near - poor.
The electricity supply from the national power grid on the occasion of the National Day has brought a great joy to the local residents of the ethnic groups there, creating favorable conditions for local development in all aspects.

Mr. Dang Van Bach (Mo 1 village) shared that in the past his family used electricity being generated from a mini water generator. Although investing more than tens of millions of dong in this generator, the electricity is only sufficient to light up 2 light bulbs. Now having access to the national power grid, everyone in the village is happy and excited. Mr.Bach's family is planning to invest in a milling machine to open a milling service in the village and earn more income.
The project of connecting the national power grid to Mo 1, 2 and 3 villages in Xuan Hoa commune, Bao Yen district has been commenced by Lao Cai PC since June 2019 and been completed 2 months ahead of the original schedule.

The project scale is to construct three distribution substations of 380kVA capacity per each; over 3.8km of 35kV lines and nearly 4.5km of 0.4kV lines. The total investment cost is about VND 8.1 billion. This is one of many projects being performed by Lao Cai PC with great efforts, in order to bring the national power grid to extremely difficult villages of the province, for the sake of the community; making an important contribution to realizing the target that by the end of 2020, Lao Cai province will bring the national power grid to 100% of unelectrified villages.
