Thua Thien Hue Power Company reported that in the first 4 months of 2024, commercial electricity output in Thua Thien Hue province is 621,630 million kWh, an increase of 6.07% over the same period. For the preparation of power supply in the dry season of 2024, the Company has established methods to operate the power system, strengthen inspection, maintenance, and repair of the power grid, ensure the safety corridor of the power grid, and prevent unsafe points.
Implementing Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8, 2023, of the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving in 2024 and the following years, Thua Thien Hue Power Company has worked and signed a commitment to save electricity with 19,978 customers, the committed saving output is 15.639 million kWh.
The company also signed commitments/agreements with 20,029 customers on capacity reduction when the power system encountered difficulties with the total estimated capacity reduction is 69.12MW and signed an agreement of non-commercial voluntary demand response (DR) with 121 customers, total maximum committed DR capacity reached 19.60MW with DR event noticed 24 hours in advance, and 9.89MW with emergency DR event; The total agreed potential capacity reduction is 29.49MW.

In the period 2021-2023, EVNCPC has invested in the power grid in Thua Thien Hue province with a value of VND846 billion (average VND282 billion/year). In 2024, in Thua Thien Hue province, Thua Thien Hue Power Company shall carry out investment projects to build power grids with a total investment of VND127 billion. In addition, EVNCPC is investing in 3 110kV power grid projects with a total investment of VND 417 billion in the province, including a 110kV connection after Chan May 220kV Substation, Phong Dien Industrial Park 110kV Substation and connection, Hue 110kV Substation 5 and connection.

At the working session, Vietnam Electricity Group also proposed and recommended to the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and departments, branches, and agencies to coordinate and support contents related to the electricity saving program; support the Electricity industry to propagate and mobilize people, businesses and public offices to use electricity economically and effectively following the Prime Minister's direction in Directive No. 20/CT-TTg dated June 8 2023, establish an interdisciplinary inspection team on the electricity use situation of customer groups according to Directive 20/CT-TTg, etc.
