Priority given to ensuring power supply during hot seasons and preventing drought, saline intrusion
Power consumption in April 2024 in southern provinces and cities reached over 8.044 billion kWh, an increase of 12.7% over the same period in 2023. Accumulated in the first 4 months of the year, power consumption reached 29.793 billion kWh, an increase of 13.95% over the same period in 2023. Of which, the largest daily output (Amax) is 303.8 million kWh (25 April 2024), an increase of 10.38% compared to Amax 2023; Maximum capacity (Pmax) reached 14,615MW (27 March 2024), an increase of 0.38% compared to the accumulated Pmax in 2023. During peak heat waves, EVNSPC focuses on ensuring power supply for irrigation and drought, saline intrusion prevention, as well as implementing a plan to ensure power supply during the dry season months.

EVNSPC and its member units synchronously deploy many tasks such as peak shaving; effectively exploit the load of construction investment works and put them into operation, and mobilize the maximum capacity of rooftop solar power from Monday to Friday (according to the allocation of the load dispatch unit), etc. Since then, the full load operation of the 110kV power grid in April decreased compared to March 2024.
Promoting demand response and electricity saving
From the beginning of 2024, EVNSPC directed its member power companies to continue improving load forecasting; work with customers to implement reasonable demand response and load shifting programs; and calculate and mobilize customers' diesel sources if needed.
Based on the production and business situation and the electricity load chart of registered customers in 2024, power companies continue to exchange, grasp, and closely follow the production and business situation and orders of industrial customers with power consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more, to forecast electricity consumption, propose customers to shift capacity from 5% to 10% of peak capacity during the hours from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day to other time frames, and avoid the time frames 9:30 am -11:30 am, 5:00 p.m-10:00 p.m every day in April, May, June, July 2024.
For load shifting, EVNSPC has completed importing a list of 6,281 industrial customers with power consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more into the DRMS program (Remote demand response and monitoring system), reaching a rate of 100%.

Regarding the work of mobilizing customers to sign commitments to save electricity, by the end of April 2024, EVNSPC has signed agreements with 274,581 customers (reaching 79.00%), expected to complete the signing with customers in May 2024.
Cumulatively in the first 4 months of the year, thanks to EVNSPC's efforts and customer consensus, the saved power output reached 675 million kWh, equivalent to saving 2.30% of EVNSPC's commercial power output.
By the end of April 2024, EVNSPC's power companies have worked and signed with nearly 7,000 customers with a power consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more to agree to participate in the non-commercial DR program, with type 1 agreed capacity (2 hours notice) of 330.8MW; Type 2 agreed capacity (24 hours notice) is 818.9MW.
