Regarding power system operation:
The power output of the entire system in November 2023 reached 23.22 billion kWh, an increase of 8.2% over the same period in November 2022. The highest daily output in November reached 824.4 million kWh (November 9), and the highest capacity reached 41,271MW (November 9). Accumulated for 11 months, the entire system's output reached 257.35 billion kWh, an increase of 4.3% over the same period in 2022, of which the mobilization ratio of some power source types is as follows:
+ Hydropower: The Northern region reduces exploitation of hydropower reservoirs due to the dry season shifting and the water flow has decreased rapidly in river basins; The Central and Southern regions continue to exploit hydropower plants with good water supply. Total hydropower output reached 74.57 billion kWh, accounting for 29%.
+ Coal thermal power: 117.67kWh, accounting for 45.7%. In particular, Northern thermal power plants and BOT plants are highly exploited, ensuring water storage goals.
+ Gas thermal power: 24.8 billion kWh, accounting for 9.6%.
+ Oil thermal power: 1.24 billion kWh, accounting for 0.5%.
+ Renewable energy: 34.7 billion kWh, accounting for 13.5% (of which solar power reached 24.1 billion kWh, wind power reached 9.84 billion kWh).
+ Imported electricity: 3.96 billion kWh, accounting for 1.5%.
In the first 11 months of 2023, power production by EVN and Power Generation Corporations (including joint-stock companies) reached 106.27 billion kWh, accounting for 41.29% of the power production of the entire system.
Regarding construction investment:
In November 2023, EVN leaders and units continue to work with the People's Committees of some Northern provinces on implementing construction investment of power projects; focus on implementing power grid projects in the Central and Southern regions; weekly meetings to review the implementation status of Quang Trach-Pho Noi 500kV circuit 3 projects. In addition, EVN has submitted to the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) a plan to arrange capital for Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project, etc.
In the first 11 months of 2023, EVN and its units have commenced 77 projects and completed energizing and putting into operation 84 power grid projects from 110kV to 500kV (including 01 500kV project, 14 220kV project and 69 110kV projects), including the energization of Phuoc Thai 220kV expansion substation, Krong Ana 220kV substation branch, Luong Son-Hoa Thang-Mui Ne circuit 2 transmission line, etc.
Some objectives and tasks of EVN in December 2023
In December 2023, EVN shall continue to ensure sufficient power supply, including being ready to ensure power supply during the Christmas and New Year holidays. The average daily power consumption of the entire system in December is expected to be 773.3 million kWh/day, an increase of 10.6% over the same period in 2022.
System operation objective: Ensure stable, safe, and reliable operation of the power system. Continue to mobilize all coal and gas thermal power plants; operate hydropower plants according to the actual hydrological situation and optimal regulation orientation to store water to a normal rising water level by the end of the year.
Regarding power source work: Continue to concentrate forces at construction sites, speed up the construction progress of key power source projects: Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant; Expanded Ialy Hydropower Plant, Expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant; Complete capital arrangement procedures for the Expanded Tri An Hydropower project. Regarding the power grid: Drastically direct and urge investment preparation progress and construction progress of key power grid projects such as Quang Trach-Pho Noi 500kV circuit 3 transmission line and projects to release hydropower sources, import electricity, release capacity of renewable energy sources, etc.; direct the urgent completing of the feasibility study report of the project to supply power from the national grid to Con Dao district to submit to competent authorities for consideration and approval.
In December 2023, units to actively prepare to well implement the voluntary blood donation program of the 9th EVN Pink Week with the message "Ten Thousand Hearts - One Heart". At the same time, towards the 69th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam Power Sector (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2023), units in Vietnam Electricity focus on implementing the Customer Appreciation Month 2023 program with the theme "Accompanying customers to use electricity safely, economically and effectively". The purpose of the program is to show EVN's gratitude to power customers through business and customer service activities and social security activities; enhance the connection and practical effectiveness with power customers and the community through direct support and assistance for people, businesses, and customers to use electricity safely, economically, and effectively.
In addition, EVN continues to direct hydropower companies/plants to operate dams in accordance with the operating direction of the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Steering Committees of provinces/cities and continues to store water in hydropower reservoirs according to the expected plan. Power source and grid operating units fully prepare human resources and vehicles, increasing 24/7 duty, proactively responding to natural disasters, and preparing to ensure power supply at the end of the year as well as holidays, etc.
