Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power Plant energizes all 9 solar arrays

At 16h15 on July 4, 2020, all 9 solar arrays of Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power Plant had been successfully integrated into the national power grid. This is an achievement to celebrate the 3rd Party Congress of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) which will take place on July 16 – 17, 2020.

The implementation status of Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power Plant project (in Ninh Phuoc district, Ninh Thuan province) was quickly informed by Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh - Deputy Director of Power Project Management Board No.3 to evn.com.vn. This project is selected by the Vietnam Electricity’s Party Committee for being mounted with a project signboard to celebrate the 13^th National Party Congress.

9/9 solar arrays of Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power Plant have been successfully integrated into the national power grid

Phuoc Thai 1 Solar Power Plant has a capacity of 50MWp, using polycrystalline photovoltaic panels and central inverter type.

Also in this project, EVN invests in building Phuoc Thai 22/220kV Substation with a capacity of 2 x 125MVA. A 125MVA transformer and synchronous equipment systems are installed in the investment phase of Phuoc Thai 1 Thermal Power Plant.

Along with that is the double circuit 220kV transmission line with a length of 2.3km, which for the immediate future will be transitionally connected on one circuit of Vinh Tan - Thap Cham double circuit 220kV line (currently the BIM - Thap Cham transmission line). In addition, there are construction supporting facilities, associated structures, a system of control and remote monitoring, observation station, etc.

Until now, 96% of the project has been completed. Project items that have been completed and safely energized include: 220kV substation, 220kV connection line and 22kV line for supplying electricity for construction activities. The power plant has energized and done the test run for 9/9 solar arrays, contributing to the national power system an electricity output of 262,700kWh (approximately VND 600 million).

From now until the end of July 2020, Power Project Management Board No.3 will urge the EPC contractor to focus all resources on testing and reaching the COD (commercial operation date) from July 5 – 24, 2020. The PPMB3 strives to accept and complete the whole project from July 25 to July 31, 2020.
