Preliminary Selection Council and Vietnam National Quality Award Expert Team worked and evaluated EVN's dossier

On September 21, in Hanoi, the Preliminary Selection Council and the Vietnam National Quality Award Expert Team chaired by Mr. Nguyen Khac Su - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology worked and evaluated the dossier of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

The delegation was divided into groups to discuss and evaluate EVN's activities based on the prescribed criteria: Leadership; Strategy; Customer; Knowledge measuring, analyzing and managing; Labor force; Operating; Operation results.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is an enterprise in which 100% of charter capital is held by the State and is an important material force of the state economy, contributing to economic development and social progress and justice.

EVN has strived to complete its production and business plans, focused on investing in the construction and development of the power system to well perform the assigned task of “Keeping the main role in ensuring stable and safe power supply for the socio-economic development of the country”.

After nearly 68 years of construction and development, so far, EVN has become the leading energy corporation in the country and the region. By the end of 2021, the total installed power capacity of the whole system reached 76,620MW, an increase of nearly 7,500MW compared to 2020, of which the total capacity of renewable energy sources (wind power, solar power) is 20,670MW, accounting for 27%.

The scale of Vietnam's power system has risen to the top of the ASEAN region in terms of installed capacity and transmission lines. Also in the ASEAN region, EVN ranks 2nd on commercial power output; 4th on power loss and power supply reliability index; 5th on power supply reliability and labor productivity.

In particular, Vietnam's electricity access index in 2019 reached 88.2/100 points, maintaining the 27th position out of 190 countries and economies in the world and the 4th in the ASEAN region, two years ahead of the government goals. After 6 years (2013-2019), Vietnam's electricity access index has improved by 129 places, which is the index with the highest improvement and is one of the three best-ranked indexes among the 10 business environment indexes in Vietnam.

EVN has also strongly applied the achievements of the 4th industrial revolution to its production and business activities from power sources, transmission, distribution, dispatching, business and customer service, etc.

Particularly in business and customer service, in 2021, up to 99.67% of customer requests were received online by EVN through 5 Customer Care Centers of the Power Sector, local centers for Public Administration, National Public Service Portal.

EVN is also the national leader in organizing online bidding and has been glorified by the Public Procurement Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment). In 2021, the rate of online bidding on the total of open, limited and competitive bidding packages was over 99% in quantity and 60% in value.

EVN has also been undergoing a strong digital transformation. After 1.5 years of implementing the Digital Transformation Project in Vietnam Electricity, as of 21 August 2022, EVN has completed an average volume of 84%. EVN set out its target of completing its transformation into a digital enterprise by 2025, developing advanced dispatching systems, and widely applying smart grid technology. By 2025, 100% of 220kV substations will be remotely controlled and unmanned.

In its Development Strategy from now to 2030 with a vision to 2045 approved by the Prime Minister, EVN set its mission in the coming period of supplying power with ever better service quality, and at the same time with responsibility for the environment and the community. EVN also aimed to be a leading economic group in the energy field in Vietnam and Asia.
